Microneedling is one of the most effective ways to refresh and renew the skin. By creating tiny, controlled micro-channels, it triggers the skin’s natural healing response and a surge of new collagen so skin gradually becomes smoother, firmer and more even. At Kynd, Sarah offers two forms of microneedling: SkinPen medical microneedling, and radiofrequency (RF) microneedling. At your consultation she’ll recommend the right option, or combination, for your skin and goals.

SkinPen is a market-leading, medical-grade microneedling device, designed and clinically tested for safe, consistent results. Using a precise, sterile, single-use needle cartridge, SkinPen creates millions of micro-channels in the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin - improving fine lines, acne scarring, enlarged pores, uneven texture and dullness, for a smoother, fresher, more radiant complexion.

Because every treatment uses a brand-new, sealed, sterile cartridge, SkinPen is a particularly safe and hygienic choice, and it suits a wide range of skin types. A course of treatments is usually recommended for the best, longest-lasting results, which continue to develop over the following weeks and months as collagen rebuilds.

SkinPen Microneedling

RF microneedling combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy delivered into the deeper layers of the skin. Alongside the collagen-boosting effect of microneedling, the added RF energy provides an extra tightening and firming action making it especially useful where mild skin laxity is a concern, as well as fine lines, scarring and texture.

Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling

Both treatments rejuvenate the skin through microneedling. SkinPen is medical microneedling, ideal for overall skin quality, fine lines, scarring and texture with minimal downtime. RF microneedling adds radiofrequency energy for a deeper tightening effect, making it a good choice when mild laxity is also a concern. There’s no need to decide in advance, Sarah will assess your skin at your consultation and recommend the right approach for you.

FAQ's

SkinPen is a leading medical-grade microneedling device, clinically tested for safety and results. It uses a sterile, single-use cartridge for every treatment, making it a hygienic choice, and it's carried out by Sarah, a Registered Midwife and Independent Prescriber. As with any skin treatment there are temporary effects such as redness; Sarah will assess your suitability beforehand.

Microneedling can help with fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, enlarged pores, uneven texture and tone, and overall dullness or skin quality. RF microneedling adds a tightening effect for mild laxity. Sarah will advise what's realistic for your skin at your consultation.

A numbing cream can be applied first, however most people find it very manageable. Expect some redness and warmth for one to two days, occasionally a little longer, with possible mild dryness as the skin renews. Most people return to normal activities quickly, with makeup and skin care fine to use after 24 hours.

Because results build progressively, a course of treatments spaced around 8 weeks apart usually gives the best outcome, followed by occasional maintenance. Sarah will recommend a realistic plan for your skin and goals at your consultation.

Microneedling suits a wide range of skin types, but it isn't right for everyone or every concern, for example during pregnancy, with active skin infections, or certain conditions. Sarah will assess your suitability carefully and be honest if another option would serve you better.
